ARTISTS AND AUTHORS

Who knew that the class of '61 would produce so many artists and authors?  Would Mr. Motovich or Mr. Allnut be surprised?  Maybe, or maybe not.  But here are some of the creative folks bred in our classrooms.

From Classmate Jon Wisman:

My dear wonderful friends,

After a delay of over 6 months, purportedly due to supply chain problems, I can share my happy news with you of the publication of my book, The Origins and Dynamics of Inequality: Sex, Politics, and Ideology. I do so, however, not with expectation that you read it, but to share my delight that it's finally out. It's my magnum opus, although readers and reviewers, should there be any, may judge it a magnum dopus! But, as Samuel Johnson put it, "I would rather be attacked than unnoticed. For the worst thing you can do to an author is to be silent as to his works."

Oh, and about the cover. It's, of course, meant to draw attention to my book. But it's more than that. It's a cropping from a painting, "Slave Market in Ancient Rome," (circa 1884) by Jean-Léon Gérôme. Slavery is the most debased consequence of inequality and sexual slavery the most horrid of that.

In a celebratory frame of mind, Jon

Like the mini-skirt she is known for inventing, 40-year fashion veteran Tiel bares it all on sex, love and Elizabeth Taylor. “Life itself is the party” in the author’s debut—and what a delicious romp it is.
