Classmate Doug McNair remembers Cary Cooper:

Cary and I used to street race my Dad’s Ford station wagon (sleeper with a high performance TBird engine). At the time he drove a 1958 Plymouth Fury Sport (small block, 318 cubic inch, dual four barrel carbureted). Nobody would race him, but we could take Dad’s Ford out at lunch and have fun.

Cary and I were best friends in 9th grade. Both his parents were really cool and I remember fondly a hilarious dinner party of our parents and us two at our home. We'd check in at reunions, often as table mates. A good guy. Steven Mayer
