JAMES FOSTER FREDA

James Foster Freda, 66, of Hopewell Twp., passed away peacefully at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ, on August 13, 2010, after succumbing to a valiant battle with lung cancer.  Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jim as he was known to family and friends, was the eldest son of his loving parents, Col. James J. Freda and the late Elsie Foster Freda.

He attended schools in California, Japan and Maryland and was a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, where he was a varsity wrestler.   He then attended the University of Maryland, Georgetown University and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC, while he worked at the National Education Association, and then at the Washington Star newspaper. Later, he studied graphic arts and design at Mercer County College and worked as a self employed graphic artist/designer.

Jim was an avid sports fan, and was happiest when the Washington Redskins or the New York Yankees won. He also keenly followed auto racing events of Indy cars, Formula One, and Porsche motorsports, and was a member of the Porsche Club of America.  Jim was predeceased by his mother, Elsie Foster Freda (2001) and a brother Dennis D. Freda (2009), and is survived by his loving father Col. James J. Freda of Hopewell Twp.; his brother J. Stephen Freda, sister-in-law, Diane L. Freda, and their daughter, his niece, Amy Guiliana Freda, who lovingly dubbed her Uncle Jim as ￿Beebo￿, a name of which he was very proud. He is also survived and will be lovingly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
