Lesley McFarland Halpin

.

Lesley McFarland Halpin died on May 24, in Redding, CA.  Lesley was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on December 1, 2010, and had surgery that day. She was hospitalized again from March to May 2013, having surgery again in mid-April. She was able to go home and spend her last weeks with her loving daughters.

We received the following message from her daughter Veronica (Ronni):

I wouldn't even know where to start telling you about mom. She had three daughters, Terri Epps, Veronica Turowski, and Michele Grisham and six grandchildren. Her family adored her and now miss her very much. She was so thoughtful, generous, loving and lively. She was still playing tennis in February. She was dedicated and hard working. She loved people and volunteered for Relay for Life plus other organizations. Mom was friendly to everyone and would talk to anyone, anywhere--always with a smile. She worked at Santa Fe State College in Gainesville, Florida, for over 20 years. I think she knew everyone that worked there plus numerous students. When she retired in 2009, her coworkers said that the campus wasn't the same without her. We had a private service for mom in St. Simons Island, GA, which was a burial at sea. Later this year, we will have another one at Oak Hill Cemetery in Georgetown.

Ronni will let us know when the local service will be held and we will pass the information on to you.

Condolences may be sent to:
