Classmate Jay Skow's Custom 1952 Ford

Jay's car (owned now for more than 60 years) just completed a week of competition at Hot August Nights, Reno, NV with more than 5200 classic cars.  He felt honored for his car to be chosen 1 of 8 to represent Hot August Nights 30th anniversary!  The '52 has a front page spread in the Reno Gazette!
The old school custom also was awarded 2 Best of Shows and then was chosen for Nevada Governor's Award and led the finale parade!!
Amazing that Jay has kept the car this long. It sat for 42 years & restoration began after his BCC 45th reunion after his wife Diane listened to classmates talk about going to junkyards to help him find whatever part he needed for his next project on his car! She encouraged him to get it restored.  It was a 6 year, body off restoration and has been completed for 4 years. One especially memorable comment at last week's car shows: a 10 year old boy looked Jay's car over and after reading the story board about the car said, " I see this car is over 60 years old, but it looks brand new!"

He is amazed that his old school custom is still getting attention. The current edition of the magazine Rodding USA has a nice 5 page spread on the '52!
