Charles Ledbetter Gowdy (1972) Air Force Captain Charles Gowdy, 28, died on May 19, 1972 at Blytheville Air Force Base Hospital in Arkansas. He died of an apparent heart attack. Born in Columbus Ohio, he was a graduate of Miami University (Ohio), and the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1968. He wasa member of the Ohio Bar, Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity, and Phi Delta Phi law fraternity. Captain Gowdy was a military judge in the Judge Advocate General’s office at the Blytheville Air Force Base. He was a three year veteran of the Air Force.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Barbara A. Gowdy, his parents, Mr and Mrs. Charles M. Gowdy, and his sister Mrs. Ann Lowe all of Ohio. In addition to his wife he leaves one son BradleyGowdy, and one daughter Mary Kate Gowdy. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetary, Glendale, Ohio
