JOSEPH "JOE" EUGENE BOISEAU - January 19, 1944 - November 25, 2022

Joseph Eugene Boiseau of Peoria, Arizona passed away on November 25, 2022 at the age of 78. Joe died at home surrounded by his family, a true blessing after a courageous battle with cancer. Joe was born in Washington D.C. where began his lifelong love affair with the Washington Redskins/Commanders. This devotion brought him a fair helping of both joy and grief over the years, but he was steadfast. Joe attended the University of Maryland at College Park. At Maryland, he was president of his fraternity, Phi Sigma Kappa, he explored various academic pursuits, made many lifelong friends, and he rooted passionately for the Terps in all sports. In 1967, Joe entered into the United States Air Force where he worked as a computer systems analyst. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1971. After his discharge, Joe built his career as a corporate executive for Computer Sciences Corporation in the D.C. area. There, he met his beloved wife Judy (Ronco) and they were married in 1978.

Joe and Judy relocated to Central New Jersey in 1980 where they spent the next 30 years raising kids, coaching sports teams, running companies, and throwing the best parties in town. Joe was a member of Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ, where he spent every Sunday working on his golf game and building friendships that he cherished until his dying day. Upon their retirement in 2009, Joe & Judy moved to the Valley and have enjoyed their time here with their children and grandchildren ever since. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Boiseau (Blumer) as well as his brother, Bill. He is survived by his wife, Judy, his daughter, Missy, and his three sons: Gene (wife Karen), Victor (wife Lori), & Matt (wife Lisa) as well as seven grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, and friends. Joe was honored with a military funeral and interment of ashes at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

Remembrance from Classmate Mary Gordon Shine:

Saddened to hear about Joe Boiseau. When he and I attended Kensington Junior High School, we were especially close friends. Whenever Joe hooked School, I would get called to the office as if I would tell them where he went (I never did). And many a time my wallet went into his back pocket when the vice principal got out his paddle. Joe and I spent endless hours on the phone every night. We went our separate ways eventually, but I saw his email on this site a year or so ago and contacted him. Unfortunately, we learned that we were on opposite sides during Viet Nam, he in the military and I as a war protestor so he stopped correspondence. It made me sad that we couldn't overcome those differences, but he will always have a special place in my heart.
