Jonnette “Jonnie” Hyland Smeallie, 73 of Murrells Inlet died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 13, 1942 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late John Tillman Smith and Ellen Mortine Marsh.

Jonnette was preceded in death by husband, Wayne Smeallie and grandson, Braedon Hyland. Jonnie is survived by her three sons, Bill (Zoe), John (Denise) and Charles (Rosa). She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Walker, Chase, Madison, Christian and Reyn as well as her sister Marsha.

When Jonnie was not traveling across the country to see her children and grandchildren a lot of her time was spent on the Waccamaw River fishing and walking the local beaches.

She had a passion for gardening, sewing, knitting and most of all collecting antiques.
