LINDA LaMACCHIA
Dr. LINDA JEAN LaMACCHIA (Age 73) Of Greenbelt, MD, on July 31, 2017 in Dharmsala, India. Beloved older sister of Christine Battle of Oxnard, CA; Diane LaMacchia of Oakland, CA; and Karen Hartnett, of Bowie. She is also survived by many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Linda was a teacher and researcher, and author of Songs and Lives of the Jomo, about Tibetan Buddhist nuns living in northern India. A memorial ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on September 2 at Kunzang Palyul Choling Buddhist Temple in Poolesville. Memorial donations may be made to the Tibetan Nuns Project: www.tnp.org A REMEMBRANCE of Linda LaMacchia from her sister, Karen Hartnett It is with sadness I am notifying you of the death of my sister, Linda LaMacchia. She died on July 31st, of what appeared to be a heart attack, while traveling in India. She died in a village, Dharmsala, where she had many friendships established over the decades, and from which she had rescued her dog, Puppy, years ago. She had delivered a paper at a conference in Hong Kong the third week of June, just before flying on to India. Her memorial service will be on Sept. 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Buddhist temple in Poolesville, Maryland: Kunzang Palyul Choling.
